New and noteworth vinyl at popstore

New & Noteworthy Vinyl at Popstore - 11 November '26

What a few weeks it's been! So much so - it's taken me a while to get to this. Between the biggest release for us so far, Taylor's The Life Of A Showgirl and trying to keep as much of her back catalogue in stock as possible, it's been quite the ride of late.

One thing you won't have missed is the Oasis reunion, but while column inches on the topic may have subsided for now (or until their next argument), interest in their celebratory boxsets has not. We're fully stocked on the epic (What's The Story) Morning Glory? 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, 3xLP 'Cast No Shadow' inspired crystal clear vinyl, and it's showing no sign of slowing down. There's even one 'b-stock' copy that has a split seam on the case.

On the topic of b-stock: our stock delivery companies are just the gift that keeps on giving at the moment, so there's a few bits landing in the b-stock category. If you're not sure what our b-stock is - it's just very slightly imperfect on the cover. The damage is always minimal, and we'd never list anything that I think might have issues with the record itself, but it's something we do to try and prevent the endless/pointless shipping of stock around the planet endlessly - and hopefully giving someone who isn't bothered by the odd crease a chance to get a good discount. There's usually a couple of new albums appearing in there each week so keep checking back.

Unless you've been living under a rock - you would have seen the blowing up of Rosalia's LUX this week. I'm afraid with most of the world are out of stock on this right now. Our stock went in one morning! The record label are also out, but we'll shout loud when we manage to secure some more.

One I've been really looking forward to this week was Hayley Williams and her next solo record, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party

HAYLEY WILLIAMS - Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, indies
It's a beautiful record - I'm a long time Paramore and Hayley fan and this hasn't disappointed me - or the critics as far as I've seen. It's understated and elegant and thoughtful and I love it.

Another one, like Hayley's, that's been out for a while but only now available on vinyl is Sombr's I Barely Know Her. It perfectly captures the angst and yearning of young love in the 2020s. While Sombr's music is rooted in modern pop, the production is heavily influenced by '80s indie rock and sleek, atmospheric alt-pop, often drawing comparisons to artists like The 1975 or a male equivalent of an artist like Olivia Rodrigo. Give it a whirl.

More soon.

See you on the dancefloor.
