Glastonbury 2025 once again delivered an unforgettable experience, blending legendary performers with contemporary chart-toppers and surprise appearances. The festival, held from June 25th to 29th at Worthy Farm, saw hundreds of thousands of revellers enjoy a diverse musical feast.
Headliners Steal the Show
The Pyramid Stage was home to three distinct headliners, each bringing their unique flavour to the festival's biggest nights:
The 1975 kicked off the headlining duties on Friday, delivering a set that was both polished and engaging. Their blend of pop, rock, and electronic elements, coupled with Matty Healy's charismatic stage presence, ensured a strong start to the weekend.
Olivia Rodrigo closed out the festival on Sunday night, becoming one of the youngest Glastonbury headliners in history. Her energetic performance, filled with pop anthems, resonated strongly with the crowd. A highlight of her set was undoubtedly the surprise collaboration with The Cure's Robert Smith, who joined her for duets of "Friday I'm in Love" and "Just Like Heaven," much to the delight of fans and critics alike.Rod Stewart in the Legends Slot
The coveted Sunday Legends slot was filled by the iconic Rod Stewart. He delivered a crowd-pleasing performance, leading a mass singalong to his timeless hits. Despite a minor on-stage mix-up involving Lulu, Stewart carried on like a true professional, even dedicating "I Don't Want to Talk About It" to festival co-founder Michael Eavis. His set was a testament to his showmanship, though some wished for more of his Faces-era material.
Other Memorable Performances
Beyond the main headliners, several other acts left a significant mark:
Charli XCX on the Other Stage transformed the space into a pulsing, strobe-lit nightclub. She demonstrated immense star power and a fierce stage presence, proving her ability to command Glastonbury's second-biggest stage. Her set was a high-energy spectacle, leaving some die-hard fans wanting more, but undeniably blowing away many with her sheer talent and ability to create a vibrant, electrifying atmosphere.
The Prodigy delivered a chaotic, rampaging, and utterly joyous set on the Other Stage, dedicating their performance to the late Keith Flint, which resonated deeply with the crowd.
Lewis Capaldi made an emotional return to the festival with a surprise pre-lunchtime set, two years after taking a break from touring. His comeback was warmly received by fans.
Lorde also surprised festival-goers with a powerful secret set on Friday, setting a high bar for pop performances early in the weekend.
Pulp treated fans to a secret "Patchwork" set on the Pyramid Stage, celebrating 30 years since their first Glastonbury appearance. Their performance was well-received, though some felt it didn't quite reach the "spine-tingling best show of the festival" status.
HAIM delivered a triumphant secret set on The Park Stage, playing to what was likely their largest crowd ever at Glastonbury. Despite a minor technical glitch, the sisters showcased their infectious energy and appreciation for the festival.
Nile Rodgers & Chic brought their signature funk and disco grooves to the Pyramid Stage, ensuring a mass singalong and getting the crowd moving with hit after hit.
Wolf Alice shone brightly on the Other Stage, delivering a set brimming with star power, with frontwoman Ellie Rowsell proving electric.
The Libertines played a breezy set on the Pyramid Stage, with their early catalogue proving to be the most engaging for the crowd.
Overall, Glastonbury 2025 was a vibrant celebration of music, featuring a compelling mix of established legends, contemporary stars, and exciting emerging talent, ensuring there was something for everyone across its many stages.
